What is 8K stainless steel?
The stainless steel mirror panel is polished to be similar to the mirror surface (scientific name: 8K mirror or No.8) by mirror polishing method ba, 2b or No.1.
Definition of 8K mirror surface: stainless steel surface after grinding and polishing, the appearance is bright as a mirror, reflecting people, commonly known as mirror 8K, which has corrosion resistance; and mirror plate is the substrate for processing subsequent color or etching plate. It is mainly used in all kinds of decoration or metal optical products.
The literal definition of 8K: the corrosion resistance of stainless steel white steel depends on its alloy composition (chromium, nickel, titanium, silicon, manganese, etc.) and its internal structure. Among them, chromium plays a decisive role. It can form a passivation film on the surface of the steel, which can block the metal from the outside without oxidation and enhance the corrosion resistance of the steel plate. The "8" in 8K refers to the content of alloy (304 stainless steel mainly refers to the content of nickel), and "K" refers to the level of reflectivity after polishing (Grade K is the specular reflection grade). 8K mirror is also the mirror grade of chromium nickel alloy steel.
The common mirror stainless steel is also extended to 6K, 10K, 12K, etc. due to the different fineness required by customers, and it is "defined" that the larger the number, the higher the fineness of the mirror. 6K refers to the mirror panel with rough grinding and polishing, whose efficiency is a little worse than that of mirror; 10K refers to fine grinding and polishing mirror panel, which can compare with general mirror; and 12K refers to ultra-fine grinding and polishing mirror panel, which can satisfy optical application.
However, there is no consistent standard for the mirror panel of any kind and steel grade. The higher the brightness, the greater the reflectivity, and the less appearance defects (white spots, pinholes, orange peel lines, water ripple, etc.), the more recognized by customers. In fact, this is a strategy that the market puts forward to satisfy people's desire in response to people's higher expectations for demand, and it is not of great practical significance. Similarly, high brightness can be collectively referred to as 8K.
